Most people do.
I think it's a sign of having ethics.
It's an optional attitude for people who are indoctrinated in individualism.

@Roundandroundwego would that be stemming from ideology perchance ?
@revenant whatever. Nobody knows where universal human rights come in -. It's definitely a great new post political world! You win and don't understand me.
revenant · F
@Roundandroundwego Rousseau and the ilk.
The Social Contract
Noble Savage
etc
@revenant the homework list for a dead planet.
revenant · F
@Roundandroundwego prelude for transhumanism movement.
@revenant sure -. Because the real Marxist revolution is to scoff at. Was that your ideology,? No Marx here, only antiques that don't help? Pardon politics. We're so laughable! Those of us still wagging our gums at a better system,! Would that be Politics? Lol.
revenant · F
@Roundandroundwego I have never been a Marxist and never will be.
@revenant no, that's me. People who think we should have a better social contract than capitalism are Marxists. Politics certainly isn't available to the people who complacently staff the USA -. Or anyone but me! All by myself I can't do politics -. All together you refuse. Perfect. I'm the last Marxist except for two thirds of humanity -. The ones that disappeared in the Murkan view.

@Roundandroundwego I do not agree with totalitarian regimes
@revenant totalitarian regimes? Do you imply I did?
and let's pretend that's Marxism. You make the straw man and we all have NATO and austerity. Perfect. You win! Nobody can say if capitalism has totalitarian tendencies. Certainly there's no hope in democracy designing the economy -. Americans have too many bombs.
revenant · F
@Roundandroundwego All marxist countries are totalitarian. Socialist countries are heading this way also.
@revenant that's a way to dismiss the flaws in the current capitalist system you have. Done! It's perfect for you, though some history is left out to favor war and blacklists.
revenant · F
@Roundandroundwego you prefer governments at war with its own people perhaps.
@revenant obviously not. The inequality in a given country inversely correlates with the health of the population. So capitalist sympathizers must always avoid actually comparing their horrible outcomes with others. The military takes care of the alternatives. You can kill Marxism. You will.
You cannot live longer lives like the Chinese, you can use military might to win control.
revenant · F
@Roundandroundwego Honestly the majority of capitalist societies also do have social systems. We are not living under the Industrial Revolution anymore.
@revenant the problem is global. Governments around the world spend way more on homelessness than it would cost them to provide permanent housing to all of us homeless. Obviously the people in power refuse to house us. This is a war, not an accident.
Each issue is analogous -. Governments spend more on mitigation than sustainable energy -. So it goes.
revenant · F
@Roundandroundwego oh they sure spend a lot on social programs but I wonder at the level of competency or interest even.
revenant · F
@Roundandroundwego are you homeless ?
@revenant I don't so much wonder as count. In the past ten years the spending on housing in Germany has fallen by eighty percent. Homelessness has grown to surpass that in the USA during that time, one in eighty Germans is homeless by official estimates. That's a typical story in all countries except Singapore and Japan.
@revenant of course. I'm not going to be able to live indoors on what I earn. It's been that way since 1990, but I'm in the process of retirement anyway. I may even go on vacation some time.
revenant · F
@Roundandroundwego That is terrible. I met some people in Canada who became homeless just because they lost their job/going through divorce and then went on being unable to repay their mortgages or even have any money. Something is very wrong.
