Should we have empathy for everyone ?

I can have empathy, however--depending on the circumstance--that doesn't mean I condone or advocate the person.

@revenant I was thinking about some I've known who got into trouble and were looking at doing time. I can empathize with their fear and their plight, but the bottom line, they made a conscious decision to do what they did and I can't support that.
