Drowning...part 2...we owed him one
OK, so when that kid saved my friend and I from getting drowned at the river bank, when the rains came and the river burst it's bank.
Our moms contacted the local paper to tell them and they came out and put him on the front page! Well it was only a local paper.
He got his picture taken and the story continued in the centre spread. Sure, we got our pic taken too, and this was Shane, the kid who saved us idea!
The pic was of that kid and me, fishing in Shanes back garden. With plastic fishing rods, fishing in his little sisters paddling pool. We were wearing water wings, the paper thought it was a great pic and captioned that "This is the only fishing Shane will let these two do, let alone their mums"
We were like "Oh come on Shane, you are not really going to make us pose like that?" But, as he saved us, I guess we owed him one.
