I ask because I’m in this Facebook group for an area that I used to live in and somebody out of the goodness of their heart was just telling everybody that somebody’s kids were skipping school at McDonald’s. and there was mixed feelings about it in the comment section, like people were calling this lady a Karen and sh!t

It depends how much. If they're going alright with school and hang out with decent ppl, then skipping every now and then can be beneficial for them, socially and to"live out those days" so they won't have regrets when they're older

@sarabi ok I agree with that. I guess my feeling stems from the fact that I was out doing bad things as a kid and skipping school, I have this fear that my kids might do it too and so I would want to be informed on if they were skipping school and doing what and where so that they don’t end up like me

@TurtlePink sure, but it's unhealthy to keep tabs on them 100% of the time. If you trust them they'll make the right choices, let them make some mistakes. And skipping class shouldn't be such a worry, if the situation is like I mentioned previously. I had strict parents and tight schedule while growing up, and it was a bit crippling. I felt like they don't believe that I'm able to do anything.
On another hand, you shouldn't either never not worry about them, bc they'll feel unguided and like they don't matter. But you are doing fine parenting from what I read 😊

I’d wonder where he got the money to hang out there all the time.
