For a second grader, do you think waking 0.8 miles to get to school is too far?

Clearly I’m not gonna make her walk that, I’ll drive her but I just can’t believe that’s considered walking distance for an elementary. And even if we walked together, what about me having to walk all that way back home 💀💀

My kids walk half a mile to school everyday and even when it’s cold out. They are 14 and 9.

But she’s 7 so I wouldn’t feel comfortable having my 7 year old walk alone and I live in a small town. The distance is fine though.
