I don’t sound like a Middle Eastern. You just don’t know your regions

He was like “Where you from? You sound like you’re from the east” And that automatically made me think of New Jersey or New York and I said “Oh like New York? I can see that” and he was like “no, the Middle East” And then I just explained to him that I’ve been in the US for like 15 years I didn’t want to go into more detail about where I’m originally from because for one I was tired and I just do not like explaining that story of being adopted because then people ask questions and I’m just too tired. But to be honest I sound like an American 🤷🏿‍♀️ I don’t have no thick heavy foreign accent. You kind of lose that when you’ve been in the country for like over 15 years

People don't realize how rude and annoying it is
@Dan193 Oh. For some reason I don’t take offense to it.

@TurtleEclipseOfTheHeart you just wrote a whole story about it, saying that you do 🤷‍♂️
@Dan193 Technically no, not that. It’s different when people try to assume where I’m from and get it wrong . But if somebody wants to know where I am from because of how I sound that doesn’t bother me.
