Yes for sure it's harder to rent an apartment with a big dog it's not fair. On the other hand though my niece lived with us for a while and she had a great dane and it caused damage, but that was more her fault.
Why the anger about small dogs? I grew up with large dogs, but my wife decided that she wanted smaller dogs as we got older,as she was having trouble controlling the large dog on the leash. We now have 2 small dogs.
