When you get a new vacuum cleaner is there anything you keep from the old vacuum cleaner?

I was thinking about keeping the extension hose things. I feel like those things should it be tossed.

Is there anything else useful that I should keep before I just throw it all away

The attachments in case they fit the new one and I need them. Not all vacs come with the same attachments. They keep doing away with their vacuum types and by the time I need a new one I have to get a different model and they change a lot of things.
