If you're too sensitive life is going to be really tough for you agree?

malaki11 · 31-35, M
Yes it is. My younger sister is a very peaceful person, amiable, shy, timid, doesn't talk unless she has to although she knows at least 4 languages. She's very intelligent and successful with a master's degree. BUT she has no self confidence or backbone. If she makes a tiny oversight or mistake she criticizes and beats herself up so much you have to tell her to stop being so cruel to herself. It's sad. She could have a great life as someone important but it isn't even in her to ask anyone for what she needs or wants let alone give orders, refuse to do anything, or take charge. She couldn't even say no to me her older brother when I made her go out and get drugs for me in a country where they're highly illegal ie she could've gotten arrested even though she was a teenager then b/c I was under house arrest with ankle monitor and couldn't leave the family home. If you can't even say no to a addict and criminal how the hell you ever going to be a CEO or manage your own business which she has all the qualifications to do?!
@malaki11 It’s pretty fucked up that you took advantage of her weakness like that.

Yeah for sure. I tend to take things personally, think negative things have a deeper relation to me and positive things happen despite me.

I don’t think people need to run around being calloused at other peoples’ expense, but you do need to be able to empathize without internalizing it all.

Not always..I like that I feel things deeply at times ...it reminds me I'm alive
Yes. This is why Nietzsche described utopia as a society where each person was subjected only to what bothered them, but nothing beyond that. Some people are fine with living in a tent while others fall to pieces if someone misses a date with them.
