that smell that clothes get when you leave them in the washer for a few hours before you put them in the dryer. I recently threw away 4 new shirts because I couldn't wash out that smell.

@SW-User Baking soda. I buy 50 lb bags of it. Put a 1/2 cup - 3/4 cup in with the laundry. It raises pH and kills that bacteria
