So it finally happened.

I got locked out of my sprinter van! For those of you who don’t know. The sprinter Amazon vans will lock automatically after a few seconds when you close the doors. This is basically to prevent theft. So we have to be really careful to always keep the key on us. Today for one stop I drank some water from my bag and without thinking put my key down on the passenger seat instead of in my pocket like I usually do. Big mistake. It automatically locked during my delivery and now I can’t get in! So I had to call dispatch and wait for them to bring the spare keys. Great. Not like I needed that 40 minutes or anything. 😅 Oh, well. It’s my fault.

it'd be kinda handy if they had a keyless entry/start system like most of the new cars - just keep the fob within x feet for the vehicle to run. that way you could wear it on a lanyard around your neck. not that any of that helps right now. bu don't they have an idea/suggestion program? if it happened you to you, it must happen more often. and it's probably fairly expensive to send people out for this kinda thing. (more as a case for this kinda idea being something to net you some kinda bonus from A).

@stound That would be handy. I wish our vans were a bit more convenient like that. Oh yeah! It’s happened to other drivers. That’s what they warn you about. I’m not sure if they have a program like that, but I’ll look into it. It seems there’s a lot that could be better. Our tools don’t work half the time. Our vans are usually beat up. We have inspections every morning just to make sure they run properly. You’d think they’d care about supplying us drivers a bit better.
