Did you ever have Canadian pencil crayons like these?

I was telling my daughter how I absolutely LOVED & got excited when my parents would buy me these before the beginning of the school year. I’d have to sharpen each one, & I even wrote my name on each one.

This one is from the 70’s. It’s selling on eBay for $129.99. 😅

oh my god those are the best! Really good quality. I'm sad they don't make them anymore.

@AmbivalentFriability oh wow. They must be rare.

@AmbivalentFriability I was like a kid in a candy store when my parents would buy these for me. Lol. They were my most prized possession. 😄

I was given a tin of lovely coloured pencils once. I think they were bought in the far East and the brand was Colleen. They were the best pencils I ever had as they were so soft and had such deep colours and coverage. But they didn't last as long as other pencils.

@Rhonda Awww

Most pencils I had just broke on the inside. Then you would shapren them and the tip would just fall out. 😐
marsbar · F
@Classified Very! What a waste!

@marsbar Fortunately I only remember times when I was more grown up and not when I still liked to colour. 😋

I remember doing art in high school art classes with colored pencils.

When you said "colored pencil crayons" I thought it was some hybrid between graphite pencils and wax crayons.

Then I realized the French words on the package.

I grew up in Ohio, and when I was a kid we went to Niagara Falls and Toronto. I always found all the French strange. My favorite was an Oeuf McMuffin.

I just liked to say oeuf. It sounded so silly to me.

@JoyfulSilence Haha

I know, I say it incorrectly. 😅

I remembered a pouch of colored pencils I used to have but not sure if they were those brand
marsbar · F
@Jeffrey53 These were only sold in Canada. I’m not sure if Crayola was sold at that time, but these seemed to be the most popular in the 70’s & 80’s when I was in elementary school.
DragonFruit · 70-79, M
We called ours color pencils, and I don't think that they were made in Canada.
marsbar · F
@DragonFruit I know. I’ve always called them that. 😅
SW-User

Rutterman · 46-50, M
No, never did. I'm sure they're pretty cool, but who the hell would pay $129.99 for them? lol
marsbar · F
@Rutterman A vintage collector who’s very nostalgic. lol
Rutterman · 46-50, M
@marsbar lol. That's a mighty expensive piece of nostalgia.
marsbar · F
@Rutterman Yes, & it’s not like artwork you can hang up. Lol
TempuraShrimp · 26-30, M
I never saw those and i'm also not canadian but I do remember Venus pencils. My grandma when I was little had a box of them. They had like a statue on the box and they were old as crap because the erasers were rock hard.
marsbar · F
@TempuraShrimp Lol. These are actually colored pencils, not pencils.
TempuraShrimp · 26-30, M
@marsbar the brand just rung a bell that's all
marsbar · F
@TempuraShrimp Oh, I see. 😇
