My first attempt at college was just to get my degree in partying. I didn't take it seriously until I was well into my 20s. Now I have a bachelor's and two master's degrees. Thinking about going back for a doctorate.

College was an absolute joke. My son has the opportunity to spend his last two years of high school getting a two-year community college degree and I am pushing it.
If he wants to finish the four year degree, fine.
For 80% of the people getting a four-year degree, it's just a few letters on their resume. They don't learn anything that makes their work/skills better than the next person.
I've had two managers who didn't have a four-year degree and they were highly regarded and good managers.
(I've ranted too much about this)

@latinbutterfly Check out their high school. They might have the ability to take a few classes while they are there.

@latinbutterfly send your children to community college. They will have the college education that is useful and practical. My 4 year BS degree college was not ready for me to go to work at graduation.

@turbineman40 I will definitely discuss it with my husband.

I have. I enjoyed college but I would not go back and do it over again. I’m happy to be a working adult even if it’s stressful at times. Ultimately I want to advanced and grow and not regress back to years past, but I will say college was both educational and a lot of fun. It was nice to have people my age at easy access and so many free events and resources open to students. Less responsibility also.

I passed my exam for college for international law I was so happy my dream of becoming part of the diplomatic corps just so my mother and father tell me they can't afford it.
I still think about it.
I still think about it.

2 Bachelors degrees and a Masters. So that would e a yes. Would go back for a Doctorate if I could find a school that had the right program and find the funding.

I loved college and might have been happy going to school forever. Back then college debt was manageable. But there were new, other things I wanted to do.
Poppies · 61-69, F
Yes, I graduated from college and I would definitely do it all over again. I might do a few things differently, though.
latinbutterfly · F
@Poppies Since I have acquired more and more knowledge over the years since I graduated, maybe I could possibly see myself going back at some point 🤷🏻♀️.
Rambler · 61-69, M
I didn't enjoy much of any of it, but I'd do it again because it helped me get where I wanted to go (even though I didn't know where I wanted to go at the time).

I regret going to college. Biggest waste of time and money for me. Maybe I should have dropped out after the first year or semester to still have had the experience.

I’ve been taking online courses since January, so I feel like I’m back in university. 😩😓
latinbutterfly · F
@marsbar I've been teaching all of my courses online because the college campus has been closed. I really miss interacting with the young men and women 😕.

I have spent exactly half of my life in academics and will probably keep participating. I actually like it.

JimboSaturn · 56-60, M
Yes I went back when I was 30 one of the best decisions of my life
latinbutterfly · F
@JimboSaturn It really helped me to grow and mature, so it was a pretty good decision for me 🤷🏻♀️.
if I could go back to the same age? yeah, for sure. I dunno how I'd possibly do it these days.
turbineman40 · 80-89, M
