Anyone else relate to childhood memory like this?

I can't remember any if my childhood, but I remember remembering my childhood.

I can recall the feeling of nostalgia relating to childhood memories from describing or remembering things from before my teen years, but I can't remember anything from before.

No, I just have socking great black holes in my memories... or times where I just recall the sensations of dissociating to the point where it can still affect me physically to this day if I try to push through the dissociation sensations to the memory inside.

@SinlessOnslaught Usually, abuse tends to leave holes as opposed to wiping out the entire first 18 years of life, though.

I was abused and I remember some details of my life from around 3 or 4 years of age before it gets patchy between the ages of 5 and 9 when my father was abusing me.

After that, I remember fairly well until I hit various patches of trauma, where I have black holes and can't recall anything... even when I'm presented with video evidence. Watching the footage made me keep trying to dissociate again.
