Does It Annoy You Some, When Someone Disregards What You've Just Told Them Your Name Is?

Let's say you've just met someone, either on the phone or in person. You tell them your name is William, or Debbie. They then shorten it or add onto it, and call you Billy or Deb.

I don't like it. It's rude when someone take liberties like that after a first meeting. Sometimes, it can effect the rest of the relationship (no matter how short) or communications from then on.

@Elisbch I think it often is too, when it's clearly done purposely. I have no doubt that someone doing that, has formed an immediate negative feeling about them sometimes.
