Does It Annoy You Some, When Someone Disregards What You've Just Told Them Your Name Is?

Let's say you've just met someone, either on the phone or in person. You tell them your name is William, or Debbie. They then shorten it or add onto it, and call you Billy or Deb.

Oh God, I remember this one day back in my freshman year of college. I had this really bad strain of animal strep throat and my brain was tooooootally fried. I was eating with my friends (for some reason), and they brought another one of their friends, Rebecca, who I'd never met before. She introduced herself and I called her Rachel. And she corrected me like a minute later, but I kept on saying Rachel and thinking she said Rebecca until eventually I just gave up. Jesus that hurts to think about.

@BlueVeins Well, I suppose you can be excused, having been so sick and all. 🙃
I've gotten someone's name totally wrong, also, and vice versa. When it's not even CLOSE to their or my actual name, it has most always resulted in hilarity. At least you got the "R" right, with Rebecca!
