Do females feel a need to feel beautiful?

Do you think that for females beauty is built so much into our identity that there is a genuine need for this to be validated amongst most women in order for them to feel high self worth? Validation thru attention, online views, stares, jealousy from other females, jobs where looks are important, boyfriends, husbands and just in life in general. Are women subtly and overtly seeking validation of our looks from everyone more so than men do?

Possibly, because women are still valued based upon their looks. Many magazines that appeal to men feature sexually attractive women, and men seek “hot” women as trophies. If that were not the yardstick, possibly women wouldn’t feel as compelled to try and meet it. And they’d certainly feel less need to compete with other women for men’s attention.
