Do females feel a need to feel beautiful?

Do you think that for females beauty is built so much into our identity that there is a genuine need for this to be validated amongst most women in order for them to feel high self worth? Validation thru attention, online views, stares, jealousy from other females, jobs where looks are important, boyfriends, husbands and just in life in general. Are women subtly and overtly seeking validation of our looks from everyone more so than men do?

I think it's sort of a common thing for women. I sometimes wonder if those men who buy big trucks, grow huge fucking forearms, and walk around in tank tops are sorta like the male equivalent of women who spend hours on makeup and fashion. But I also realize that that's also sort of a power thing for at least for some of 'em so who's to say.
