Why do African men tell American women that they love them so quickly and don't even k now them?

This is certainly not the first time this has happened to me, but for some odd reason, A lot of African men are attracted to me. I have never spoken with an African man in a sense of dating because quite honestly, I'm not interested in dating anyone that lives in a different country But whenever I join Facebook groups or some dating sites, my inbox usually has a small handful of African men. I am always upfront and tell them that I am not interested in dating overseas. That seems to attract them even more. This past instance I was literally about to close my account on a particular dating site, but I couldn't find the delete account button. I had an email. I shouldn't have opened it; I should have deleted it and walked away, but I'm a nice person and I try to respond to every email that I get. I told him I was deleting my account and he asked if I had an email where we could chat. (WHY OH WHY DID I GIVE HIM MY EMAIL??!! That was a mistake on my end. I told him I was not interested in a relationship. He says can we be friends? Ugh! Why am I so nice? lol. I try very hard not to lead him on. Careful about what I say. Attentive to how much time I give to him. At one period, I stoped my notifications so I wouldn't be tempted to respond, at least not so quickly. Our conversations (if I can even really call them that) are very brief, and not deep. This last message he tells me he loves me. That is not a turn on. It's actually the opposite. This man doesn't even know me. Why are a lot of African men to tell an American woman that he loves her so quickly and doesn't even know her? Besides trying to get a green card, what are some other possible reasons?

I know a very intelligent Canadian aid worker who fell for and married an African man. Once in North America he quickly divorced her. And she met him in Africa, face-to-face, not on an online forum. There's nothing stupid about this woman.

I don't think social media or random emails are the right platform to fall in love with someone from a country with poverty. I'm not saying those relationships can't work, I'm saying if you're naive, you're taking a massive risk.

@Abstraction Oh, well I'm not interested in men from other continents/countries anyway. I was never considering getting to know him on a romantic level, I was just wondering why they are so quick to tell an American woman "I Love You" and doesn't even know her first name. Imean most American women I know don't fall for that crap.

That seems to be men in general, especially on here 🤣.

@LikeTheSun haha. Amazingly, they don't know too much of American culture, or at least American women... Most I know would be turned off by a man(especially a stranger in another country if he told her he loved her and he doesn't know absolutely anything about her... Not her name, age, hobbies. etc. Never met in person, don't have a phone number, haven't even had 2 real conversations... was just aware that this person existed within the past couple of months. smh. Yeah. that pushes most women away, not making her magically fall in love at those three words and want to marry...

@germanshepard Well, I apologize for my lack of clarity, however, I'm not white and I've had MANY Nigerian men show interest in me to the point of telling me that they lobe me, which quite honestly it's a turn-off.

It's because they love white woman. Or you must be very sweet. 😂

@bijouxbroussard I would say so.
In a lot of cultures (not all) people only date to marry. In college I met several Nigerians, Ugandans, Somali, Kenyans. A friend warned me about it, advised me that many were looking for wives. And considering some of those countries practice polygamy, it’s not that much of a compliment. 😒
