I've celebrated more than a few holidays by myself for one reason or another. Though, I don't think I did Christmas 3 years in a row when up in the mountains of Virginia a long time ago.

How did you celebrate solo? What did you do?@MrPerditus1

@Carissimi Being from the states, I did do Thanksgiving dinner for myself. :) Just had a nice huge meal, some drinks and a movie. Also, decorated for Halloween and a couple of times Christmas decorations went up, but I was snowed in for 2 months and no way to get off the mountain, so just ran the generator and listened to Christmas music while drinking spiked eggnog. Not sure if that counts as "celebrating" but it worked for me.

I suppose it’s a celebration, if you feel like it is. You must have had a lot of provisions to survive for two-months. @MrPerditus1

@Carissimi I did. I lived in Germany for 5 yrs and learned how to be prepared, that and Army life taught me a lot. lol So when I moved up to that mountain ridge and saw my closest neighbor was over 2 miles away at the bottom, I took precaution and glad I did.
Though, it was absolutely gorgeous and I miss it, it would have been nicer to share it with someone, but alone was still amazing.

Would you enjoy it for 2-years? @MrPerditus1

@Carissimi If I had all the supplies I'd need? Yes, I could do it. Well, also if my health allowed me to cope, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
I was snowed in a couple of winters there and each time it got easier and felt nicer. Last winter there I wasn't thrilled with the snow melt that came.

You enjoy a solitary life. @MrPerditus1

@Carissimi It's not that I enjoy it more than being around people, I've just gotten use to it and can survive. But, I would have enjoyed being stuck up there more had I had someone to share it with, someone to cuddle and sit with, cook with or for and so on. But right then, I was going to my divorce. I just learned to adapt.
I'd prefer to be sharing my life with someone right now, but it's not happening, so I do my best with what I have or don't have.

I’ll visit you. @MrPerditus1

@Carissimi You'd be most welcome. :)

Do I have to climb the mountain, or drive? I’ll bring extra food. @MrPerditus1

@Carissimi Sadly, I don't live there anymore. :( But it had a dirt and gravel road. I live in San Diego, CA now or again. No more mountain or snow. But I'll always have it in my thoughts.
