How to participatein heated loud discussions as an introvert?

Hi, I'm a really introverted person and I often find myself especially quiet when in a group where everyone talks loudly and there's a heated discussion. How to learn to become part of it?

As introvert we need to be interested in the subject before we make the step to become involved. If the subject isn't interesting to us nothing will make us join in.
