I read a book that was written 15 years ago. At that time, each drug company spent 40K per doctor, per year getting them to prescribe meds. Doctor's know the meds are dangerous but don't care.

I think some are good and some, not so much. I think they have gotten on the wagon with medical doctors in having a pill for everything. The problem with a pill for everything is that it only addresses symptoms, not root issues. "Why am I depressed?", "Why am I manic?", no real answer to what the problem is but here have a Prozac and you will fill better. And in the mean time, problems keep getting worse. I will avoid going to a shrink at all costs.

No it’s not harsh. I mean I suppose they could be if the doctor isn’t a shrink but shrinks don’t have a problem prescribing meds unless you are asking for a benzo like Xanax then they are because of the high potential for abuse

u're correct...suicide rates are high among psychiatrists...they need very thick skin!

I agree that clearly some doctors just medicate the patient and send them on their way. 😒
