How do you spend your typical week day?

Similar Worlds brings people together from all across the globe. I would like to hear about how people around the world spend their typical week day! Please share yours. For reference, please include your general location. I also would like to know what typical foods you eat.

I live in North Carolina, U.S.

I wake up at about 4:15 a.m. to the smell of coffee brewing. Mmmmm! My husband sets the coffee pot on a timer so it’s ready when I get up. I immediately turn to make my bed and get that out of the way (yes, husband sleeps in separate bedroom due to snoring), then visit the bathroom and brush my teeth. Coffee time! I get my coffee with a bit of cream and a squirt of stevia, then head to my sitting room where I plop down in my reclining chair, put a blanket over my legs, and grab my laptop. Ahhh…. So cozy and quiet. My husband (and his dog) do not get up until 7 a.m., so the peaceful morning hours are mine.

I look at Facebook or scan through Similar Worlds, then spend a few minutes planning my food menu and exercise for the day. Once I finish my coffee, I put on my running clothes and step out into the quiet darkness of the early morning hours for a 30 min run. The runs will increase as I am training for a half marathon. The birds are not even awake yet – all I hear is crickets chirruping. Overhead I see the Orion constellation and clouds drifting across the moon. Off I go into the dark streets!

By 6:15 a.m. I’m in the shower, then make-up and hair. I go to the kitchen to gather my food items for the work day and fix a travel mug of coffee for the drive to work. By 7:00 a.m. I’m heading out the door, just as my husband gets up with his golden retriever, Sonny, to kiss me good morning and say “have a good day!”.

I arrive at work (human resources at a junior college) at 7:30 a.m., greet the secretary, then head to my private office. Turn on computer, unlock file cabinets, click on my salt lamp (for ambience), and my table lamp, then put my food items in the little refrigerator I keep in my office. I sit sipping what is left of my coffee while reading and responding to email, then check my in-box. By 8:00 a.m. two more employees arrive followed by our boss. About 8:30 I eat something for breakfast, usually plain Greek yogurt with almonds and walnuts mixed in, maybe a hard-boiled egg, a small wheel of cheese, and/or a granny smith apple.

Now it is time to work on projects. There are four to five folders on my desk, each with a different project that needs worked on today. I take a few phone calls throughout the day, most of which pertain to answering questions and solving problems. My boss and I are back and forth to each other’s office spending a lot of time working on projects or sorting out any serious personnel actions within the organization and issuing actions to the unfortunate recipients.

I often eat lunch in my office about 12:30 p.m. Typically a salad with avocado and a hard boiled egg. Sometimes I put tuna or salmon on top. Other times I just eat leftovers from last night’s dinner. Then I leave to go run a few errands - the post office, bank, a store, etc. Sometimes I go to a nearby park to eat my lunch or eat out, then head back to the office. At 3:00 p.m. I have afternoon Tea Time! Tea helps me de-stress and get through the afternoon until 4:30 p.m. quitting time!

On the way home, I call my husband. He works from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m., so I do not see much of him during the week. We catch up on the phone during my drive home. My car has a built-in speaker phone, so it is hands-free safe! My husband is usually home to feed his dog as we talk and waits until I get there. Then I kiss him goodbye as he heads back to work and I entertain his dog for the evening. Sometimes I go to the fitness center after work, particularly if I did not exercise in the morning.

My evenings are generally uneventful. I take a shower to wash off the work day and put on comfy clothes. Since I’m alone, I make something quick and easy for dinner usually consisting of a meat and vegetables or a hearty soup. I clean up and get things ready for the next day. Sometimes the neighbor kids come over to play with Sonny. When they do, I fix them snacks and chat about their school day. Then it’s time for me to relax and watch a little TV, typically period dramas. I’m in pajamas with a glass of wine by 8:00 p.m. Lastly, I go to my room and read a book (or watch TV) until I fall asleep at 9:15 p.m. so that I can be up by 4:15 to do it all again. Early to bed, early to rise!

TL;DR
0400: wake, pee, take pills, take dog outside, feed pets.
0500: hair and makeup.
0600: have coffee and breakfast.
0645: brush teeth, get dressed.
0715: leave for work and sit in traffic (blasting swing playlist to put me in a good mood)
0800-1700: work (I won't bore you with the tedious bullshit.)
1720: arrive home, have dinner, clean up.
1830: watch Wheel of Fortune
1900: shower, meditate, take more pills.
2000: go to sleep.

@KimWexler Pretty close to what I do. I imagine most working people have about the same routine.
