Why do believers feel threatened by non believers?

This is not a discussion on religion vs atheism or a hate post. I don't have hate for them but they're actually taught that non religious people are just bad. They just treat us same or even worse than they do for murderers and rapists. I am struggling so bad because I am surrounded by Christians and it's hard to make them understand just because I lack faith doesn't mean I am a bad person.

I am not threatened at all. Most atheists are the butt of jokes but not something to be feared. They are the losers in any discussion.

@JBird Well, in defense of the believers I'll say that life after death is a reasonable argument. They're just mistaken about the delivery system and what can be expected.
