How were you disciplined when you were growing up?

Being put over the lap and getting the bare bottom spanked with mum's wooden hairbrush was the usual punishment for my sister and me. My mother was not stricter than most mothers at the time but she was a very consistent disciplinarian and did not spare the brush.
The method worked very well and my sister and I agree that we never got an undeserved spanking and also that we benefitted from mum's hairbrush being so closely acquainted with our bottoms. We learned the needed lessons and it felt reassuring and safe when we had been spanked and were forgiven.
