never ever feed the cows before the chickens.
@SHREKPage why? was there a reason. we had both but I don’t remember an order. The only thing was always first was chipping the ice at the horses water trough at 4am sharp in the winter, but that’s so they could drink, so it actually made a difference.
@DarkHeaven because the chickens would get around the cows for grain if they weren't fed outside and kept busy.
@SHREKPage Were they dairy cows?
@SHREKPage or for slaughter?
@DarkHeaven dairy, Guernsey and Jersey
@SHREKPage That makes sense then. We were a cattle yard, for slaughter, and the cows were no where near the chickens.
@DarkHeaven it was a very free-range hippy dairy farm.

barn cats and everything!!
@SHREKPage That’s cool. We couldn’t run like that, though. The steers could literally trample you. Had to be careful.
@DarkHeaven we had a mean assed horse that was my sister's and hated everyone. that bastard died of old age alone because he couldn't co-exist
@SHREKPage we had several horses. I loved my horse, Midnight. She died when I was in college and Da sold the rest after her retired from cattle ranching. They are expensive to upkeep.
@SHREKPage I really miss riding.
@DarkHeaven I'm glad your experience was better than mine, That Palamino jerk of a horse ruined them for me
@SHREKPage sorry.
@DarkHeaven oh its ok!! I am glad you have fond memories!!
