What was an absurd rule you had to follow when you were growing up?

No bikinis until junior high.

I wasn't allowed downstairs, (because that's where the big screen tv was), as well as other designated rooms of the house...at the age of 13.

Most likely, but honestly I felt the primary motivation was control. I wasn’t clumsy or careless with mine or anyone else’s belongings.@Jenny1234
