What was an absurd rule you had to follow when you were growing up?

No bikinis until junior high.

No climbing up things you can't climb back down. 馃檮

No driving on the interstate and definitely not sneaking off to Atlanta or the beach for a weekend before you're 18. 馃檮馃檮

We had to "pay bills" with our allowance. So dad would hand us like $100 in small bills but would charge us for rent, utilities, and entertainment. We might get to pocket like $10 for ourselves when it was all said and done.

Looking back, I don't think they were all that absurd.

@SwampFlower The allowance thing is super interesting. My parents paid almost everything, but they said I should pay for gasoline just so I'd get a sense for paying bills.
