What was an absurd rule you had to follow when you were growing up?

loads, i had to ask permission to leave the dinner table, i couldnt have girls back ever, we had to go to church every sunday,if ii broke any of these rules i was beaten,so wheni lef thome willingly at 18 , i borke every rule id ever been told,over andover and still do now
