My parents sold it when I was away on a class trip. Then again, it was falling apart, and probably about to break down for good.

@trackboy Well, the check engine light was on the entire time I drove it, the driver side door was held together with packaging tape, the CD player ate CDs, the AC died, the radio antenna snapped off, it failed it's most recent safety and emissions inspection, and the carpet was forever stained by years of my dad spilling coffee in it.
So, given the fact that it still belonged to my dad, and all of its problems, I knew they were selling it for scrap eventually. I just didn't think it would be while I was away.

@trackboy The car was already 15 years old by that point, and my parents did not want to invest any more money into it to keep it running any longer. Besides, after that, my mom upgraded her car, and I inherited her old one, so it was still a trade-up for me that didn't cost anything.
