I'm actually "in the business" and I've said this before - It's not a game, it's not something to dabble in...if your serious find a qualified / certified wealth management person, do the research, etc.
If your age is true - money management, retirement planning...all that stuff should be in your wheel house by now....sorry to be all "fatherly" but tomorrow is right around the corner!

I see....that's hard because (as you said) there's a lot of them.
They sometimes have a guy you can call to get advice but don't bother.
Don't do more than 2 or 3. Look at the performance...stay away from ones that are tech base or emerging markets, etc. You want long term (your not 20!)….look for the ones w/the best return and keep a little in the one that's a money market...just in case. Watch it every week. Check it! There's some that say another 2008 is coming so be ready to make the call and pull it back to the money market fund if you have to! ALSO-if they match (say you put in 10%, the company puts in 5%) put the amount in that they match...it's free money! Got it? Good luck..ok I have to get back to reading the depraved sex stuff on here! (kidding!)….
