Blast from the past. The album from The Honeycombs was an 11th birthday gift I received from my parents. We already HAD five records! 😊
The reason for the selection was mainly because the drummer was a girl. Rare at that time. The gift tag said, “If you want to be a drummer, be a drummer. Don’t let anybody tell you different.”
The phrase is supposedly actually “This too shall pass” but I guess that’s too difficult to rhyme and stay PG in the early 60s.
It’s thought the phrase may have originated with medieval Persian Sufi poets.
The fable is that a wise king asked his philosophers for a phrase to be posted where all would see it, and they chose “This too shall pass”
