Do you have respect for the police in the US?

Just watched a vid where a black guy was strapped to a chair by four white police officers, beaten unconscious and left blind in one eye.
I can't believe these are the ppl who are entrusted to protect the public, and I'm sure they'll get away with it.

I live close enough to Eastpointe, Michigan where this happened. Grosspointe and Detroit I've driven alot to.

To answer your question. If you really became a cop to help people, and have some patience with people, then yes I respect you. Perhaps you're even brave enough to take some risk and not hide behind some protocol then I really have great respect for you.

But if you're looking to do things, if you can unncessarily hurt, injure, maim, even kill, to take it as far as you can but still be within the law then I have no respect for you.
