Archaeologists tell important things about our past through remains, in the here and now we already see cultures enough to know, back 1000 years ago we have no way of telling. Archaeology is a great thing, it's better those get preserved at museums then getting grave robbed by some religious cult because religions destroy monuments and the like occasionally.

@SatanBurger there are many religious Archaeologists, stop throwing your shade

@MartinTheFirst My post is pro archaeology, religious groups destroying archaeologist sites as well as various Governments throughout time is a fact (though the Islamic Brotherhood was doing that during modern times) with my main point being that the sites go protected in museums where they should be (as I stated but you want to fight so you'll distort anything you read.)
Nice red herring from the main point though, won't stop me from being pro archaeology and it won't change the fact that it's NOT robbing graves in the least if you consider historical significance:

@SatanBurger I just dislike how you only mentioned "religion". You could have just said "people", since a great deal of the destruction has been carried out by other groups, such as governments.

@SatanBurger Lmao, nice edit.
SatanBurger · 36-40, F
@MartinTheFirst The edit was because I feel like it's detracting from the main point of what I said. I mainly agree with you by the way, it's the first example that I thought of and could have re-worded it differently. I wasn't meaning to "put shade" on anyone, I was literally thinking at the time of the sites destroyed by the Islamic brotherhood in very recent times so that's what I put 🤷♀️
If I was thinking about past Governments I probably would have used a different example, not everything is meant to purposely hurt others but if that's the way it comes across, I'm sorry for that.

@SatanBurger I didn't think you were trying to hurt anyone. I still believe it was worded like that due to your bias against religion though. It's good that you see what I mean.
