Usually for me, I am in between sleep and awake..and hyper vividly imagine I'm walking down a random sidewalk and I stumble and suddenly am seized with a horrible fear and falling sensation and my entire body Jerks and I bolt upright and sometimes yell.

Hypnogogia- The transitional stage between being immersed in sleep and being conscious in the woken world.
@Picklebobble2 I've had entire nights in that state. It's horrible but fun at the same time

@TopCat They say there are four or five stages of restful sleep.
Many people hit first stage and don't progress.
Or they hit stage 2 and revert back to stage one.
Nearly always when you have anxiety over something going on in real life

A very common end to nightmares for me. And I'm terrified of heights!

I have ones where I trip over in the dream and instead of hitting the ground, I just fall through it.

In those dreams they say if you hit the ground in your dream you don’t wake up
deadgerbil · 26-30, M

Ah yes those pesky falling dreams. I hate those.
Once I had a dream I was balancing myself on a curb and when I fell my legs went up in my waking life 😂
