@Emily19 yes I do have a similar problem actually.

It's just unlike you, I choose to do the adult thing and change my tactics rather than blame an entire gender for my own inability to choose wisely who I spend my time on.

Clearly conveying what you are trying to say also helps when trying to find people who have their priorities lined up in a similar way to yours.
