Has a child you don’t know ever mistaken you for their mom or dad?

[i][c=#BF0080]I took my son to his appointment and as soon as I walked in a really cute little girl about my youngest’s age(3-4) ran to me saying “hi mommy” and grabbed my hand 😳 I figured it was just that the mom prob had long dark hair too. But the whole time I was there she was talking to me and calling me mommy and mama even though I told her I wasn’t her mom 😐 I think she was with her grandma, but she didn’t speak English. I was really surprised the child thought I was her mom, b/c she was Asian and I’m not.

Has anything like that happened to you? [/c][/i]

Maybe she's mixed? Maybe her mom was your Italian look alike and her dad was an Asian Mikowee? 🤔

@Reject [i][c=#BF0080]I don’t think so, it was a very small office(1 Dr) and when we got called back for the second part of the visit a young Asian woman, about my height and hair length/color and similiar arched eyebrows walked past me. I thought right away that must be her- the grandma(I think) was clearly not raised here. I asked how old the little girl was was and she smiled, mumbled something I couldn’t understand in her language and pointed to the area they call you back to as if she was saying a parent was there or something. Whenever the kid was calling me that she smiled like she got what the kid was thinking, but why didn’t she tell her? I wasn’t disturbed or anything, she was a really sweet and cute kid and my son is that age so I understood the confusion a bit.

@MellyMel22 Oh! So you did eventually see her mom then, that makes sense. I'm not sure why granny didn't deem it necessary to inform her granddaughter! At least you didn't mind the cute experience.

The secret love child was just a possibility that crossed my mind! 😝 I mean people often think I'm black when I'm actually mixed. Black genes tend to be dominate! I'm not sure about Asian ones.

@MellyMel22 That reminds me of how happy Kay is whenever a precious child she knows calls her mommy despite her not being their mom. ♥️
