Why does humankind hate dragonkind

Humankind's members attacked young dragons, took their heads as trophies, when the parents found their kids bodies they were quite mad. They burnt down some towns crops in retaliation. Humans then pointed at us and said "see they're evil" and then everyone was in an uproar thinking we dragons were evil. Jerks

We Dragons have been maligned....and hunted down by mercenary knights in their “shining armor” who seek to kill us in exchange for some bounty from rulers who were too cowardly to face us themselves. We were forced to go into hiding for the sake of self-preservation.....yet the term “slaying one’s dragons” persists to this day. It’s horrible.

@DragonFruit Not to mention it's cowardly as a whole to come kill us. It would be truely brave to try and tame us...but no. I'd give them credit if they came with no weapons seeking to make ammends, yeah it'd be seen as suicidal for them, however that showed they have massive balls than someone scared of us, a big lizard with fire breath and wings
