If the person you're involved with called you ugly?

My cousin says her baby daddy called her ugly when he was drunk and said all she is good for is carrying food for their baby meaning if she wasn't breast feeding their son they wouldn't be together. She says he apologized the next morning.

Earlier last year she said one of his friends was admiring how good she looked and her baby daddy told the friend that his ex was better looking than she is while she sat in the next room. She's so heartbroken that the man she's with is unappreciative of her. I don't know what else to say to make her see that she's beautiful in her own way
