When I was in Mississippi in the early 90's. I trimmed around power lines and during July I could fill garbage bags with cubensis after the daily summer rains. Now farmers put stuff in the cattle feed. It's practically impossible to hunt magic mushrooms in the deep south anymore. Occasionally I would boil a pot of them. The boiling is a preventive health measure. It's pretty dangerous to graze. You can get nasty parasites. I would make extremely strong coffee and put the mushroom mush in a blender with the strong coffee and ice, some cream, cinnamon, and sugar. I would make a delicious ice coffee drink that would put me in a sea of psychedelic ink for about six hours. Psylocibyn is the cleanest mind altering experience I have ever known. Always felt great when it was over. Like everything else it has to be done responsibly and not daily or weekly or even monthly. Be very careful with the shrooms ! You can be poisoned, arrested, or shot by a farmer! Unfortunately it's really not worth the risk anymore because of the antifungal measures cattle owners take.

@puck61 thank you this was truly informative
@11knaves11 One good thing is. Cubensis never grow except out of cow pies, and there is no deadly mushroom that grows out of cow pies, but there are some that are unhealthy. Of course the internet is filled with all the identifying information a person might need, and High Times magazine has all kinds of mail order stuff. I guess some people grow their own. You can get all the legal information you need too from the good old information highway.
