Are desperate people unappealing to you?

I want to go on an overseas holiday this year for my birthday. I've contacted a travel agency to book it, and the guy trying to sell me the holiday isn't listening to what I'm telling him. I can smell how desperately he wants to sell me a holiday. I guess somebody gets paid in commissions.

Desperation is repulsive no matter what it is. Sounds like he wants to grab a percentage of the sell, but to be honest, it's not his fault. It's the blood sucking vultures he's reporting to have put him in such situation and instructed him to do so. So are the insurance agents.

@SW-User makes me think that when they're being trained, the person tells them to picture dollar signs above customers head
SW-User
@millennialgrandpa That's how they are trained. As long as they are making money, they don't care what they sell you. Most of the time you don't get any value for your money.

@SW-User oh well. Won't stop me from having a fun birthday

Find a different agency?
SW-User
@millennialgrandpa Ask for a different agent?

@SW-User probably will. Why they gotta make booking a holiday needlessly complicated?
SW-User
@millennialgrandpa The want more commission, I am guessing

No, they are just annoying.

It's annoying in sales, but it's also pretty depressing actually. I feel bad for people that have to do that. I could never do that for a living.

@DDonde ikr!

Travel agents get paid on commission. This is nothing new. That is how they make money.
millennialgrandpa · 31-35, M
@JaggedLittlePill I've never been overseas, so I wouldn't know
