Yes. Not in a direct way but I have seen the will to live fade from many older folks when their spouse dies. Soon after they die as well.

There's a condition called Broken Heart Syndrome that can come around after extreme emotional trauma, where tendons in the heart actually break. I haven't heard of it being a specific cause of someone's death, though.

Not someone your age...no....you don't die of a broken heart because your 1 or 2 year relationship ended. That is reserved for people who've been with/loving each other for decades and one dies

I believe so. Sometimes stress and sadness can make us sick. Though I do think death as a cause is rare.
