I was seven years old, maybe. Mom had taken me shopping with her. I do not remember if any of my younger siblings were with us; if so, they were just babies. She was getting fed up with my hyperactive behavior. I must have been badgering her to let me go look at toys while she looked at boring things like shoes and clothes.
At one point she had enough of my whining and running off that she told me that Santa Claus wasn't real. Then she went on to say that the Easter Bunny and tooth fairy didn't exist either. I recall being distraught, shocked, and running away screaming, "NOOOOO!"
I remember the trauma of that moment but nothing after that.
