What is the biggest spider you've ever seen?

I once saw a yellow garden spider, and it was HUGE. I seriously couldn't believe my eyes. I never had spiders that big where I live before.

Yellow Orb Weaver I think, they do make huge webs, really cool looking though.

I would hate to run into that spider in a dark alley though, they get pretty big.
