My mom requested to fix a crack in her bedroom ceiling and to paint

That’s exactly what we did
But now she’s upset that the repairs to the plaster (on other walls) bubbled up and continue to bubble up after every time they patch and sand them.

The thing is the house was built in 59’ and it needs new drywall and new insulation
She does not want to spend the kind of time and money it takes to get all of this done so I really don’t know how to make her happy...

Plus it’s not like our plaster guy doesn’t know what he’s doing. He’s been doing work for us for years and does a fantastic job but with the bad insulation of the walls the plaster keeps bubbling

I told her there’s no way to make the walls look brand new.
With exception to the one bedroom - which she intends to use as a walk in closet all other walls look really good.
The ceiling did crack again but the second coat was baked in and that seemed to do the trick the second time.

Ugh - I really don’t like working with family.

We refocused her attention to the bathroom and went to select her bathroom tile which will be in shades of grey.
I’m excited about this because the bathroom is the only room where we were able to completely replace the walls (had to update plumbing)
It sounds like you are doing your best to help your Mom out. I can also understand her frustration that deeper structural issues with the house are frustrating her attempts to make things look nice. Wishing you all patience and good will. Family is precious.

Thank you @CinnamonWorlds
The house will be done this week
With exception to the kitchen.
The floors are being done at the end of next week and we start the remodeling of her kitchen in January. It’s really tiny but we’re making the mechanical room smaller and practically and extending the kitchen into that space
