I believe America will always set the biggest example to the rest of the world

What do you think of the example Americans set?

All Empires fall. Everything happens faster now, i dont think America has much time left before it goes like the other empires. If anyone is setting an example its northern europe.

@SW-User being that so many countries are reliant on the US and our economic and industrial success/solvency; guess what? If we fail, everyone else fails... domino effect.
SW-User
@wildbill83 China is investing heavily in other countries. Though the U.S. still leads in some technologies, it won't stay there in the near future. Especially since it's underfunding A.I. research which is set to be the next boom.

@SW-User Africa is gonna be China's "China."
SW-User
@SW-User They took a page out of the Western playbook. They are doing the good old bait and switch. They invest and get them in debt in exchange for political favors and or resources. They disgust me. 20 years from now I'll be ranting about Chinese Imperialism.
SW-User
@SW-User Yeah, but at least they're helping Africa develop, unlike most other nations. Plus, it's a smart move, despite how shitty it is. It'll give China dirt cheap labor to use, like most of the west have been using China for. Probs will make China the top dog in a couple decades.

@SW-User Development is not a valid excuse for imperialism friend. The U.S. did the same in Latin America via the world bank. Was shit being built? Yes. But it made the countries so burdened with debt that they were forced to pay the U.S. back via resources. Forests were depleted, fish stocks were depleted, countless people suffered in staggering poverty due to the transfer of resources. Corporations made out like bandits while the people suffered. Plus, Africa has a limited life span if the earth heats up by 5 degrees which it is currently on track to do. Massive drouts and industrilized poverty will be its future.

the next boom will most likely be mass produced nanotechnology/nanomaterials (carbon nanotubes, graphene, etc.), not ASI

we'll be building with materials stronger than steel that weigh less than plastic (building over a mile high, space elevators, lightweight transportation, etc.) Graphene based electronics that are 100 times faster than anything today, small enough to sit on the tip of your finger...

China will be trying to fight off a bunch of robots gone haywire... 😂

@wildbill83
"With increased governmental funding and improved research infrastructure, China has made significant advances and currently has the fastest growing nanotechnology publications and related industrialization. On the one hand, the Chinese government, like the American government, continues to build and support a fertile nanotechnology community. On the other hand, efforts appear less organized in the European Union. Although the gap in nanotechnology impact between the USA and China has narrowed significantly over recent years, the two countries have evolved with their own research focuses." -

@SW-User according to whom? China? lol

Is that why China basically rips everyone else's technology? Because they're at the forefront? 😂
JovialPlutonian · 36-40, M
@wildbill83 like you say you are not empowering yourself when you disempower others.
wildbill83 · 36-40, M
@JovialPlutonian it's no secret that China copies everything. Why do you think they're tied up in so many patent and intellectual property suits and scandals? Many companies will refuse to do any business with them contingent on that fact.

They "disempower" themselves as you say.
SW-User
@wildbill83 the empire is ignorant as ever. Whatever. You'll just fall harder once reality hits you.

@SW-User yeah, okay, sure... whatever you say kid... 😂
