How is life after abortion?
Do people feel guilty or just go on with their lives like it never happened?

I knew someone who had 3 in a period of maybe 5 years. I supported her for the first, the second I didn't feel for her so much, the 3rd I really didn't give a crap and I don't believe she did either but she was milking it for sympathy.
I remember the moment she looked into my eyes and realized I actually didn't give a fuck, she stopped talking about it so much.
I was born because my mother had an abortion and couldn't go through with doing it again, she shared with me what actually happened and it's the stuff out of your very worst nightmares.

@PoetryNEmotion yeah it's a disgusting thing to hear.
She was pressured by her parents and the doctors because the father had a mental illness that could be passed on to the child.
She was 3 1/2 to four months along... She had to be flown out to a doctor capable of such a late abortion.
She was called a slut and horrible names by the the professionals because she wasn't married and the doctor was abusive in telling her exactly what he was doing as he was doing it which involves the amputation of an unborn child's limbs.
The story was unbelievable.
She was an extremely abusive mother to me though so her telling me that story is by far the least of my worries.
That child was lucky to not have suffered with such a cruel and sick parent.
I wonder if life might have been easier for me if I had had a sibling but one never knows.

@MushroomFaerie This is beyond words! Abortion is a choice and the people who perform it should do so professionally. I wish she had reported the bastards. Here, legally, abortion can be done up until 20 weeks. The videos show what happens. This should not dissuade a woman who needs one as I believe in pro-choice. Otherwise unwanted babies are born and it is often even more disastrous. Why thrust unwanted babies upon mothers? It has likely taught you valuable lessons. I often wonder why we must learn this way...Are you still in contact with your mother? Do you want to have children? I thank you for your honesty and for your courage.
@PoetryNEmotion It was over 30 years ago, they didn't listen to pregnant teenage girls back then.
I'm trying no contact with my mother but it can be very difficult, I think I'll get there eventually.
I hope to have children but mum put ideas in my head about men not being trustworthy and how horrific pregnancy and childbirth are so unfortunately I have many issues to over come before menopause

@MushroomFaerie Times have changed and yet not so much. I hope you find a way. A way to have kids too. Because I know you are a fine woman. Don't let her past colour your present. I know it is easy for me to say. I believe in you, girl. I do.
