Oh man. The summer of 1976 !

25 days straight, the temperature hit at least 26*C/80*F !
32*C/90*F at it's highest

@Picklebobble2 I just googled that as I wasn't in the UK then. The British always say they don't get enough hot weather. I bet by the end of this heatwave most of them had had enough.

@Travelbug mass drought everywhere; fire appliances couldn't do their thing and the army had to requisition water from other places; and a lot of folk died because they couldn't handle it.

@Picklebobble2 I can imagine. I recall it being 35 in London about 15 years ago and I went shopping and many shops had no air conditioning and you could see many people looking unwell and others giving them water.
