How did you overcome depression?

And what have you learnt from it? I feel like I'm in a place where I appreciate life and value the smalls things and want to better myself as a person. I have battled depression and through depression I think going through that experience helps you become stronger and you value happiness.

For me, external factors control it greatly. There’s a Youtuber called Rafeal Elliassen, you should check his videos out

I never really did. Especially not when I feel like it’s warranted. I just try to keep a positive outlook.

Well,

I can overcome moments of depression. Writing down my feelings, distracting myself with other activities.
Some days I just need to live it. I don't feel like doing anything. I try to be patient with myself and remember I'd feel ok later. Usually after a nap. Or handling the situation that depesses me.

But depression isn't something that just disappears. It comes and goes. And I have learned to live with it.

It was severe in my late-twenties and I'm quite lucky to still be here to talk about it. I've learned not to avoid things, not to hide, not to be dishonest with myself, and also that it's okay to find some things difficult.
I said to myself: "Today, I'm going to overcome depression". Lessons learned: if you put your mind to it, you can do it.
