Some matters are either black or white; how is one supposed to deal with something that is grey?

What I mean is something is either clear or unclear, it is easy to decide. But when something is between these two; what to do them?

I see things in numbers. When things are black and white, one option is a 0 and one is a 10. But even when they're grey, one might be 5 and one might be 7.
